Strategy

Many people regard Web Design as the art of making a website look good. However good design is about both form and function. Our strategy focused on going beyond just eye-grabbing designs and engaging copy. Instead, we put ourselves in the shoes of the target audience who would visit the site - right from a first-jobber or a fresher from college to a seasoned veteran. This helped us conceptualise a website that offered ease of navigation via an intuitive UI and relevant content available upfront, basis each target group

Background and Objective

  • All current trends point towards a vertical scroll, especially for device agnostic sites, to reduce bounce rates. Relevant content was segregated and the links were vastly reduced with sections culled out basis our varied audience.
  • We restructured the content and kept it crisp and concise, presenting it in a manner such that relevant content was always visible upfront. The website navigation was designed to make it more user friendly with one touch access links.
  • In keeping with Wipro’s code of ethics, the website was made transparent with the hiring process, growth opportunities and requirements upfront - The number of vacancies in different businesses are visible directly on the homepage itself. Furthermore as part of Phase 2 (currently being initiated) an applicant will also be able to track his resume and see its status.
  • Easy access floating banners on the left were created for job search + sharing the resume social media connectivity are other highlights that enable users to go directly to areas of interest.

Execution

  • Usage of iconography, infographics and statistical graphics was seamlessly woven in with textual information to break copy heavy pages and make it more readable and interesting.
  • A highly advanced job search was integrated into the system that allowed people to select jobs basis experience, expertise, location and more. In fact this Intelligent job search functionality was embedded through the site.
  • Since Wipro has multiple verticals from BPS to Consulting, each vertical was explained at length (WHO WE ARE) but in succinct points enabling job seekers to -
    1. Check if they are the right fit – with the right set of attributes needed
    2. Find out the unique features of the vertical
    3. Discover the growth opportunities and other benefits of joining a particular vertical
  • An entirely new section was created for a key TG – CAMPUS. Keeping in mind the different recruitment streams at the campus level, the section allows students fresh out of college to pick his/her current occupation (MBA, Science, Engineering) to see how they can grow at Wipro and the opportunities present that will help them hone their skills.
  • Internship has also been included as part of the campus page. Each stream (Engineering, MBA and Science Graduates) as well as Internships gives more detailed information upfront in keeping with Wipro’s transparency policy. Prospective candidates can view eligibility criteria, training programmes, stipends and other useful information that augment his/her knowledge about the company and future growth prospects.
  • Other key features include video testimonials, a visual walk through of the hiring process, and a help centre with exclusive tips on how to enhance a resume and an insider’s overview of how to put your best foot forward at a Wipro interview.
  • The website was coded HTML5 and CSS3 in a responsive state to accommodate different user access via tablets, mobiles and browsers.
  • On the backend the website was powered by a user-friendly CMS content management system to help regular updations.
