Mahindra Xylo Voice Command Technology App

The Stylish New Xylo, an MUV, launched in early 2012. The Stylish New Xylo E9 model comes with Voice Command Technology - a unique technology that allows the driver to talk to the Xylo and control certain vehicle functions through voice command.

Our task was to evangelise this Voice Command Technology feature to build interest in the E9 model and boost pride of ownership.

Mahindra was launching a new car in the market - the Stylish New Xylo and wanted to create buzz in the online space.

It had undergone a complete cosmetic facelift and was much sleeker and stylish.

To engage users with the Stylish New Xylo, the brand wanted to execute an innovative idea that would highlight the top-end E9 variant’s state-of-the-art Voice Command Technology.

The Voice Command Technology let owners command everything from the wipers and door locks to personal phone calls. You can also control headlights, defogger and more through voice commands. It offers audio alerts when a safety lapse is detected.

After the unprecedented success of the Stylish New Xylo launch, the next big task was to highlight E9’s Voice Command Technology.

With this innovative idea, Mahindra wanted to efficiently build customer interaction and boost the pride of ownership.

The main concept was to let Android as well iPhone users discover the Voice Command Technology effortlessly on their smartphones. After the launch, the focus was on increasing social conversation about this unique technology.

People had to speak to the app to activate a series of voice command features that the Xylo E9 variant offers.

This app gave consumers an opportunity to explore this technology using their smartphones and connect with the brand.

We developed a mobile application across Android and iPhone platforms.

The ‘Talk to Xylo’ Application allowed people to experience the magic of Voice Command Technology.

Programmed to understand the Indian accent, it allowed users to command everything; from turning on the wipers to locking your doors and turning up the music.

A user could speak a list of pre-defined commands into the phone - and the Xylo (on screen) would react to the voice command.

To explore this unique feature, users could SMS ‘VCT’ to 5757577 or, download the app by visiting the Apple Store or the Android Market.
